Here are our 6 essential tips
#1. Only iron when necessary, and always at the appropriate temperature indicated on the care label. Use an iron with adjustable heat settings and a non-stick soleplate.
#2. You can avoid creases by using fabric softener, removing garments from the washing machine or dryer as soon as the cycle ends, and/or hanging them immediately after spinning or laying them flat to dry.
#3. If you can't find the care label or if it's been cut off, set your iron to the lowest temperature, turn off the steam function, and test on an inconspicuous area. You can also try a steam test before fully ironing the garment.
#4. Protect delicate fabrics while ironing: the safest method is to use a dry pressing cloth. It prevents marks and shields the fabric from friction, water, and heat.
#5. Iron garments while they’re still damp: moist fibers are more flexible and easier to work with! If needed, blot excess water with a towel. You can also re-moisten the fabric before ironing.
#6. Be careful with silk and water! While silk can be washed, this delicate fabric is prone to “water spots.” Always iron without steam and never dampen partially.
